Seraya Energy reaches out to VWOs with new price scheme

Article_2Seraya Energy has become the first energy retailer to launch a new price scheme which will provide discounted electricity tariffs for Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) that are members of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). VWOs that are eligible as contestable consumers are now able to enjoy up to 13% discount off the regulated electricity tariffs and a waiver of the security deposit for electricity.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) is the first to have signed up for the scheme. The GROW* programme under CPAS has also been the adopted charity of Seraya Energy’s parent company YTL PowerSeraya since 2011. Above the various fund-raising and sponsorship activities, as well as staff volunteer work, that have been organised to help its clients with Cerebral Palsy under its care, the company is now able to further reach out to CPAS through this new price scheme.

Ms. Jessie Holmberg, Executive Director of Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore, said, “We have been very grateful to YTL PowerSeraya for their generous support over the years. With the further introduction of their retail subsidiary’s new price scheme to help VWOs like us, we would be able to achieve yearly savings of up to $23,000 on our electricity bills. This is significant as it would help ease the cost of our day-to-day operations.”

*The Goodwill, Rehabilitation and Occupational Workshop is a sheltered workshop that provides vocational training and sheltered employment for adults aged 16 years old and above with Cerebral Palsy and other associated disability conditions.
