SE Customers Receive Energy Makeover
Five customers from Seraya Energy have received an energy makeover for their office and premises. These lucky five were selected from an Energy Makeover Initiative that they participated in organised by Seraya Energy, the retail arm of YTL PowerSeraya.
This Initiative was held in conjunction with Earth Day that fell on 22 April and attracted about 30 customer sign-ups. Through Seraya Energy’s collaborative efforts with its product and solution partners, brand new fittings were installed at the five selected customers’ premises. Such fixtures or fittings included energy efficient lights for offices and industrial areas, heat-reducing solar window films as well as energy conserving printers/copiers.
Through this initiative, Seraya Energy was able to help deliver an estimated total annual energy savings of 40,000kWh and a reduction of 20 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. In addition, the initiative has also helped to provide an efficient and productive working environment for customers.
An example includes F&N Creameries, the ice-cream division of the Fraser & Neave Group. The installation of heat-reducing window films provided thermal comfort to its sales team from the afternoon sun and as a result, they were able to increase their air-con temperature and reap air-con savings at the same time. In addition, a proposal to optimise its entire office printer/copier environment with a newer printer/copier solution supporting existing business operations is also expected to increase office productivity and deliver energy savings.
This Energy Makeover Initiative forms part of Seraya Energy’s on-going initiatives efforts to provide value add to customers and seeks to emphasise how cost savings may be reaped from energy efficiency improvements in the workplace.
