Opera Under The Stars – YTL Concert of Celebration 2010

ytl01_tb It was a magical night for more than 12,000 people as they spent an evening under the stars listening to the heavenly voice of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli at the YTL Concert of Celebration 2010. Held at the Singapore Botanic Gardens on 8 May, it was sponsored by PowerSeraya’s retail subsidiary Seraya Energy.

About 4,500 people enjoyed the actual concert held at The Lawn by Swan Lake while the remaining guests and public members were treated to a live telecast at the adjacent Palm Valley.

Besides holding the free concert in Singapore, YTL Corporation also made a donation of $850,000 to Community Chest. The cheque presentation was witnessed by guest-of-honour and President S R Nathan before the start of the concert.

The audience, which also consisted of many business associates and customers of the PowerSeraya Group, enjoyed a series of both classical and contemporary songs by Bocelli.

The two-hour concert was supported by Singapore’s Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philharmonic Chamber Choir as well as guest performers which included world-renowned flutist Andrea Griminelli, Slovenian soprano Sabina Cvilak and popular Australian pop singer Delta Goodrem.

Bocelli further enthralled the audience when he performed six songs for the encore. This was followed by a magnificent display of fireworks.

This concert formed part of a series of free concerts held by YTL, a strong supporter of the arts. YTL and the PowerSeraya Group are very glad for the support received from all its customers and business partners through the positive feedback received.
