Staying Focused in An Age of Change

- Note by John Ng, CEO of YTL PowerSeraya

john_ngI trust everyone is having a good start to 2013.

2013 will continue to be a competitive year for the energy industry, primarily because of new generation companies entering the market (bringing the total number of major generation companies to six), as well as increased generation capacities from incumbent operators, driven by a new source of gas supply in the form of Liquefied Natural Gas. Against a projection of tepid electricity demand growth, 2013 looks set to be paved with challenges. We will strive for operational efficiencies and push the boundaries of what we do best while keeping our eyes focused on our core spirit of customer satisfaction.

In the last year, our retail contact centre has won several call centre awards to make us proud, adding to the many accolades Seraya Energy has received for service excellence. Despite intense competition in the marketplace, Seraya Energy has retained its retail market leadership position and achieved Business Superbrand status for the second consecutive time.

In tandem with our drive towards delivering business and service excellence, we also seek to maintain the trust of our shareholders, customers, employees, business partners and the community through greater accountability and transparency. One way we are doing this is through our Corporate Accountability Report, which gives an account of our company’s progress on the business and sustainability front.

As we continuously seek to improve our service and product offering to you, we also look forward to having closer interactions with you through any suggestions or feedback you may have. Through a thorough understanding of your business needs and expectations, we hope to partner with you through each step of the way with cost-efficient, sustainable and value-added energy solutions to help achieve your goals.

Yours sincerely
