YTL PowerSeraya Shares With GROW

dsc_0635.modified YTL PowerSeraya recently shared the Christmas and New Year joy with GROW (short for Goodwill Rehabilitation Occupational Workshop), which is part of The Spastic Children's Association of Singapore. GROW is also the adopted charity for the integrated energy company.

It held a fund-raising ‘Share your blessings’ dinner on 12 December 2012 (12.12.12), a special date which will not repeat for a hundred years, with its staff at Asian Market Café to raise funds for GROW. The contributions of staff, matched by the company’s one-for-one dollar fund, saw a total sum of $8,000 raised for GROW.

In the same month, YTL PowerSeraya staff dedicated their time on 20 December 2012 to celebrate Christmas with GROW at its corporate office in HarbourFront. More than 70 cerebral palsy individuals attended the celebration and had their wishes granted when staff presented to them the presents they had wished for.

Shawn Soh, Community Executive from Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore, said, “The beneficiaries from GROW certainly had fun at the Christmas Party held at YTL PowerSeraya's premises and it has been a long time since they last stepped out for an excursion! I can see that the staff of YTL PowerSeraya certainly lived up to their company’s CSR vision of promoting a positive and sustainable environment as well as improving their social contribution to the community."
